A beautiful example of a 37 year old White Hunter in the original box with foam lining.
The Knife is in mint, unused, unsharpened condition with a beautiful darker Deer Antler Handle and stampd on the hilt is the number 21781 and made in the 1st half of 1987 with Puma Stainless Steel.
The sheath is a Tan Brown and in 98% condition with just a couple of marks near where the blade goes in which can be seen in the detaied images.(See 2nd from last image)
The box is in very good condition with original label which looks to have probably had a price ticket on it which has been removed and part of the number and name re-written. (See final image)
It comes with original matching warranty card, sharpening instructions and a rare pamphlet detailing the White Hunter and other Puma Fixed Blade knives
This is a very fine example of Puma's most famous knife and a great addition for the collection.
Numbered 21781, made in the 1st half of 1987 with Stainless Steel.
Overall blade length is 10 5/8", with original Stainless steel. 6" blade.
Full tang. Built-in finger guard. Lanyard hole. Handmade in Solingen, Germany.
The PUMA White Hunter model was developed in 1956 in conjunction with the East African Professional Hunter’s Association to be the leading knife for big game hunting.
The Puma White Hunter, introduced in 1956, was in production for Eight years before the introduction of the Puma control number system. This number, a.k.a. Production Code or Date Code was introduced in the 4th Quarter of 1964 to assist PUMA with quality control and product improvement processes.
The White Hunter is the knife that made PUMA famous in the hunting knife market. It also earned them international recognition as a premier maker of quality production knives. This recognition promoted rapid growth in exports. One of there largest markets was the United States.
