Puma Knife: Puma Original 1987 SEA HUNTER 17 6363 in Original Sheath and Matching Wooden Box

The best one yet !

Beautiful and this one is a real Rarity as it has everything with it including :

Original PUMA 17 6363 SEA HUNTER Knife in original sheath, older wooden labelled box and mint certificate.

Please read full description which forms part of the listing.

This knife Model is in 99.8% mint, unsharpened and unused condition.

In original Light Tan Brown sheath and in an original correct dovetailed wooden box with original Puma certificate with illustrations.

(Personally, I could be wrong and I am always happy to stand corrected, but I think the original box for this era knife would have been a Plastic Green and Yellow box but luckily for the person collecting this knife, it actually has an original wooden baize lined Puma wooden Box with the Puma Brass Plaque which holds the knife in place, a certificate with matching Puma Sea Hunter information and also an original Puma Sea Hunter Label on the base of the box and some other Puma literature) These empty original wooden boxes fetch upwards of $260 so this alone is a valuable asset to the knife.

The box does show some age to it and has had a slight repair to one side of the dovetail joints as can be seen in the final image.

The Blade has not been sharpened and knife has never been out of the cupboard

Numbered 21781, made in the 1st half of 1987 and with the famous New Stainless Super Keen Cutting Steel.

Stamped on the blade is: 17 6363 HANDMADE PUMA SEA HUNTER GERMANY STAINLESS

Overall length approx 27.5cm with original Stainless steel blade of 15.3cm.

Built-in finger guard. Lanyard hole.  Handmade in Solingen, Germany.

Beautiful mint example of this classic Puma Sea Hunter Knife and now quite rare and collectable.

*The Puma 17 6363 Vintage Sea Hunter (Fishing) Knife.  The handle on this knife is rubberised in order to have a good grip in water. This model is also sometimes called a Fishing Knife.

This knife has a guarantee control number on the finger guard. The number is 21781. This indicates the knife was made in the 1st half of 1987 at Puma Werks in Solingen, Germany.

The Sea Hunter is not like any fishing knife made. It has many features. The red handle is grooved so when your hand is wet it will help avoid it slipping out of your hand. The broad thumb groove gives extra support when cleaning large fish.

Part of the blade has fine serrations to easily cut through bones, tough skin, and rope. The flat surface near the top of the blade serves as a hammer for clam and crab cracking. An exclusive for PUMA the blade has an additional short part for bait chopping.

The knife is mint and over 37 years old. This is a chance to own a great piece of Puma cutlery history. The blade is stainless steel.

This knife measures 11 1/4" overall with a 6 1/4" blade.
