*Paul Selvidge is a renowned, mid 20th century custom knife maker and Scrimshaw Artist. He is best known for crafting fixed-blade hunting knives (such as the drop-point and backpacker styles) and executing intricate, fine-line scrimshaw engravings on knife handles and vintage firearms.

Because of their age and craftsmanship, Selvidge knives are highly sought-after by collectors of vintage custom cutlery around the world.

This Puma Hunters Friend was Scrimshawed by Paul Selvidge in the early 1970's and has Holly Leaves both on the top and bottom of the handle along the spine and it has been signed SELVIDGE near the Brass Guard.

99% mint condition and the only one of thses special Scrimshaw knives we have seen. This would be the perfect knife for the Puma Collector

No chips etc in the blade and it holds its original shape, edge and writing. Just a few age marks on the blade near the tip which can be seen in the detailed images and would polish out but we have left it unmolested.

Numbered 44074, made in the 4th Qtr of 1970 and with the Pumaster Steel Blade and is now 56 years old and never been out of the box apart from for display.

This is one of the best shaped and sized hunting knives in the Puma Stable.

Overall length is approx 23.5cm with an original High Carbon Steel Straight blade of 12.5cm with a handle of 11cm

Nice aged Sambar Deer Antler Handle with 3 Brass Pins and Brass Bolster.

Full tang. Built-in finger guard. Lanyard hole.  Handmade in Solingen, Germany.

The knife has been left in unmolested condition for the avid Puma Collector and would polish up very well if required but is 99% mint.

NO CRACKS OR CHIPS TO STAG HANDLES

Sheath is an original Puma item in very good condition. The knife fits perfectly and has a hole near the top at the front which lines up with the lanyard hole on the knife handle for a restraing loop to be fitted. Sttamped on the reverse of the sheath is:

The knife has never been out apart from for display

The Original Green plastic lid and Gold Cardboard box is in very good condition although the label has almost gone and the foam insert has been replaced

This is one of the best and most useful knives in the Puma Stable and rarely come up in this condition.

 A NICE HARD TO GET RARITY TO ADD TO THE PUMA COLLECTION AND PROBABLY THE BEST WE HAVE COME ACROSS.
