Puma Rare Model 971 Plainsman 1969 Saw and Blade Folding Knife with original box & Paperwork #96011
This is an almost mint condition (at around 99%) and rarer older model 971 'PLAINSMAN' (later known as the Game Warden) Model 971 with the Standard Blade and Saw Blade Lock Blade folding knife in original Puma Green and Yellow Plastic Box and original Puma sharpening instructions and original cardboard sleeve

One of the best examples of this highly sought after early model 'PLAINSMAN' knife.
Serial No. 96011 Which means it was made in the 1st Qtr of 1969
Stamped on one side of the blade:
971 PUMA-PLAINSMAN NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL PUMA GERMANY
Condition : Is Mint with no play in the blades. This is the typical harder to close model which seems to be a common part of this model knife.
The 971 is notorious for being very difficult to close and force is sometimes required to close the blades properly.
Good snap, excellent nicely figured and grained Jacaranda Hardwood Handle.
We have left this knife in absolute original condition with the Brass unpolished. A bit of Puma Polish and the Brass will be beautiful.
A very rare knife with the Plainsman and Game Warden models becoming very popular.
