Puma Rare Model 970 Plainsman 1969 Folding Knife with original box & Paperwork & Pouch #96583
This is an almost mint condition (at about 98-99%) and rare 970 Plainsman (Later to become the Game Warden) Model 970 with the Standard Blade folding knife in original Puma Gold Cardboard Base Box with Green Plastic Lid, original Puma paperwork (This paperwork is rare and highly sought after) original and matching Puma Warranty and Puma Brown Suede Pouch
Serial No. 96583 Which means it was made in the 3rd Qtr half of 1969
Stamped on one side of the blade:
970 PUMA-PLAINSMAN NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL PUMA GERMANY
Condition : Is almost Mint with no play in the blade. This is the typical stiffer opening and slightly harder to close model which seems to be a common part of this model knife.
The 970-971 is notorious for being very difficult to close and force is sometimes required to close the blade properly.
Good snap, excellent nicely figured and grained Jacaranda Hardwood Handle.
We have left this knife in absolute original condition with the Brass unpolished. A bit of Puma Polish and the Brass will be beautiful.
Box has a few age marks as can be seen in the detailed images but for a knife of 57 year old it is in excellent almost mint condition.
A very rare knife with the Plainsman and Game Warden becoming very popular. This one is a beauty as it has all its matching pieces including warranty, paperwork box and Pouch.
