Puma Rare 1968 model 970 PLAINSMAN Engraved Model Folding Lock Knife in box Serial Number 56984

This is a very rare Special Edition and beautifully engraved 970 PLAINSMAN folding knife in original Green and Yellow Plastic Box.

Even the Rivets are beautifully engraved.

The plainsman was the name Puma gave to this model of knife before changing the name to Game Warden in roughly 1970.

Serial No. 56984 Which means it was made in the 4th Qtr of 1968
Stamped on one side of the blade:

970 PUMA-PLAINSMAN NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL & PUMA GERMANY stamped near the base of the blade.
Please Read as narrative and images form part of the description.

*Condition : Excellent condition for age and in original box.

The knife looks to have been lightly sharpened as can be seen in the images but it was never carried or used and remained displayed in the original box.

The Bolsters are beautifully engraved by Puma.

It looks as if it could have been very lightly sharpened at some stage but there do not seem to be any other marks and the sharpening is very light.

I believe the handle is made from either Jacaranda or Rosewood.

Never Carried or used.
Made in Solingen by Puma Germany with a serial number of 56984 and made in 1968.

A very rare knife especially with this level of engraving on the Bolsters.
