Just arrived from Puma Solingen Germany and only two available

HUNT TO SURVIVE!

After an extensive and demanding testing phase in the wilderness, we are proud to unveil our final knife design! Check out our three models from this series "in action" on Hunt to Survive (YouTube).

Discover the ultimate companion for your next outdoor adventure! This powerful full-tang knife stands out with its rugged appearance and thoughtful design. The handle, made of green G10 with a red G10 liner, not only offers a distinctive look but also ensures exceptional grip and durability – even under the toughest conditions. Incl. lanyard loop to attach a lanyard. The blade, crafted from premium D2 steel with an elegant satin finish, delivers maximum cutting performance and high resistance to wear.

USE WITH A FIRESTEEL

To create sparks with a firesteel (also known as a fire starter) and a knife, you will need some practice. Hold the firesteel firmly in one hand and place the sharp back of the knife blade (the recess at the front of the blade) - not the cutting edge - at an angle of about 90 degrees to the steel. Pull the knife downwards over the steel with even, strong pressure. This produces hot metal particles that fly off as sparks. Direct these sparks towards a prepared tinder nest made of dry material such as birch bark, cotton wool or dry grass.

Each knife comes with a custom-fit Kydex sheath featuring steel clips for secure carrying. The sheath can be attached to your belt or gear in various ways, providing versatility and ease of use. Additionally, the integrated drainage hole prevents water buildup and simplifies cleaning. Whether by the campfire or deep in the wild, this knife is a reliable companion, blending strength, style, and functionality for any situation.

Following the successful launch of the three HUNT TO SURVIVE knife models, which PUMA developed in collaboration with Frankonia and the three adventurers John, Philipp and Niklas, we are now introducing our modern interpretation of the ‘waidbesteck’. These knives are faithful companions that withstand extreme situations and offer reliable support, not only in the wilderness of Canada (youtube: Hunt to survive).

These knives are made in Solingen Germany.

We now also offer the PUMA Frischling and Keiler models with a combination leather sheath so that you can always carry both knives on your belt or on your equipment without losing them. The small PUMA frischling is a perfect back-up knife and also masters filigree cutting tasks. The skeletonised design also makes it light and easy to handle. The large PUMA keiler is perfect for bushcraft or outdoor use, demanding tasks such as chopping wood, gutting game or cutting thick materials are no problem for the solid blade. The G10 handle offers a secure grip. The PUMA waidbesteck HUNT TO SURVIVE is reliably stored in the accompanying high-quality combi saddle leather sheath. What is your next adventure?

Description:

The Famous PUMA® Proofmark - Lots of companies talk about the quality of their steel. PUMA® proves it. We proof every single PUMA® knife blade made in Germany for hardness. If you examine the right hand side of your knife, you will see a small indented dot on the blade. This small dot is the “proof mark” from a Rockwell hardness tester. Using a diamond-pointed needle, every blade is tested for hardness. This needle causes the proof mark that is a symbol of a PUMA and is your personal assurance that your knife will deliver the PUMA® quality promise. Before we package our knives, we know for sure that they deliver the right degree of hardness. If it does not pass, it does not ship.

Features:

Steel – The steel used to make PUMA German knives is the best knife steel in the world. The proper amount of carbon makes a knife easy to sharpen and hold a cutting edge, but it also allows a knife to rust more easily unless other trace elements are added to protect oxidation. In our 440A steel, we add about 1% carbon for a great edge and about 17% chromium to maintain the temper but inhibit rust. About 0.35% Silicon is also added to the base alloy to deoxidize the steel and further stabilize the blade. Additionally, other trace elements such as manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and molybdenum are added to increase the ability of the steel to form an edge and hold it once formed. These trace elements cause the molecules to align more evenly when cooling to give better structural strength and consistency. This is a more expensive way to make knives, but we know that every knife that bears the PUMA proof mark really does deliver the promise of the best knife blade in the world.
