Rare and absolute Mint condition 1989 PUMA Model 220 985 Custom Folding Knife with genuine Ebony handle.
Beautiful Puma Custom 985, design by Richard Hehn. Handmade in 1989. This one was made before the quality started to decline slightly in later years.
The steel part of handle is one piece made (Integral) completely from stainless steel, no bolsters or liners. New Customs are nickel silver which are much easier to manufacture. Scales are Ebony Exotic hard wood.
6 3/4" long open and 4" closed.
99% Mint condition, knife opens and closes with good snap and no wobble.
Comes with original Green/Yellow Plastic Foam Lined box. Box number is 16/985, it has its matching warranty and sharpening paper.
Probably the best example we have had so far and a real rarity in this condition.
Very Collectable and hard to find this is in mint condition unused and unsharpened in original Green and Yellow matching box with matching warranty card and paperwork.
On one side of the knife blade is etched: 220 985 STAINLESS PUMA CUSTOM SOLINGEN GERMANY.
On the other side is:Design Hehn HANDMADE.
Date code is: 23981 which means it was made in the 1st Half of 1989.

This is an old but new Puma 985 Puma Custom Ebony Handled Knife. It is unsharpened, unused and maintains approx 99% condition with just a superficial mark near the rear on base of bolster (as can be seen in the detailed image) This would polish out but we have left this in un-molested codition for the avid collector
Beautiful Ebony exotic hard wood handle, Blade is original with factory edge.
It folds nicely with a crisp snap.
It is in overall Excellent condition and very rare.
Made in 1989, now in 2026, it is 37 years of age and an absolute beauty and rarity.
