Puma Rare Model 971 Game Warden 1976 Saw and Blade Folding Knife with original box & Paperwork #97674
This is an almost mint condition and rare 971 Game Warden Model 971 with the Standard Blade and Saw Blade Lock Blade folding knife in original Box and original paperwork. (This paperwork is rare and highly sought after)
Serial No. 97674 Which means it was made in the 4th Qtr half of 1976
Stamped on one side of the blade:
971 PUMA-GAME-WARDEN NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL HANDMADE GERMANY
Condition : Is Mint with no play in the blades. This is the typical harder to close model which seems to be a common part of this model knife.
The 971 is notorious for being very difficult to close and force is sometimes required to close the blades properly especially if they are both opened together.
Good snap, excellent nicely figured and grained Jacaranda Hardwood Handle.
It has an original Green and Yellow Plastic Puma Box with original label and also the correct Puma Product Pamphlet pertaining to the Puma Game Warden and on the other side, Puma Junior and Senior information. The foam inset is not original and has been replaced as age tends to destroy the original foam which turns to a fine green powder.
We have left this knife in absolute original condition with the Brass unpolished. A bit of Puma Polish and the Brass will be beautiful.
A very rare knife with the Plainsman and later named the Game Warden becoming very popular.
