Puma Knife: Puma Original 1983 6379 Bundeswehr Military (Civilian) Knife in original metal sheath
This is the Puma German Miltary Bundeswehr Model Knife which was issued to German Troops in the 1980's and only sold for a short period of 1983 as a civilian version with Puma Gold Emblem on the handle.

Originally developed for the Bundeswehr (German military) which can be seen coming up for sale occasionally, this one is the one offered to civilians for a very limited period in 1983.
This one is in excellent condition and comes in its original metal Sheath
The knife has the Gold Puma Emblem on the handle which is missing from the Military issue versions.
Its history makes it a very scarce knife to find and collect especially the civilian version.
The stainless steel blade is 5 ½ " long. The original metal sheath is included, making the total length 11 inches.
Model no. 6379, made in Solingen Germany.
3/4 tang. Built-in finger guard. Lanyard hole. Handmade in Solingen, Germany in the early 1980's era so is coming up to the 42 years old mark and excellent for its age.
In excellent original condition with original metal sheath and leather frog and belt loop.
German-made scabbard
Date is 1980-1983 manufacture.
No cracks or chips to handle and blade is almost perfect with no chips and with just a few light sharpening marks as can be seen in the images but it is unused with just some age marks which would polish out but we have left it in un-molested condition.
Never carried, or used.
Scabbard is again in excellent unused condition with original stud with no use showing and just a few age/storage marks.
As these metal scabbards were prone to having the paint chiped off, this one looks like it may have been re-painted in Military Olive Drab with just a couple of light surface marks which can be seen in the detailed images.
An excellent example of an original Bundeswehr military issue collector's (Civilian) knife in excellent condition.

*The military version of this knife has been copied by the Chinese and can sometimes be seen on various internet sites so beware of fakes at original item prices.
