Made in 1994 by S.Mackrill Custom Knives in South Africa, this is the 6th and Final Knife in the series for Safari Club International in the USA
Beautiful hand made knife which is a special edition 'RED IVORY & GIRAFFE BONE Handle with Brass Pins and only 1 available.
This is number 31 of 100 and a rarity in Australia.
A general purpose knife designed for the hunter or backpacker. Light and easy to carry. Mackrill designed the blade with a broad belly. The handle is in Red Ivory which is the sacred wood of the Zulu people and Chiefs CHARKA & DINGAAN had their spear handles made from Giraffe Bone which is impervious to water and blood. As in any natural materials, there will be flaws, but they are only surface. As with all the Mackrill knife handles they must be regularly oiled or waxed.
Comes in a beautiful custom made Red Baize Lined "Meranti" Wooden Box with original paperwork.
The blade is made from Polished BOHLER N690 Steel Vacuum hardened to Rockwell Scale 58-60 RC
The handle is made from Red Ivory and Giraffe Bone and Brass Pins finish off the beautiful handle. (Please note detailed images with some natural flaws in the handle which are part of the horn/bone/wood)

'Mackrill Custom Knives was established in 1991 by Stephen (Sr.) and Michele Mackrill in Johannesburg, South Africa. Stephen and his son, Stephen Jr. are custom knife makers, artists and perfectionists. Stephen Sr. passed away in 2012. Stephen Jr. continues the work and legacy of his father.'
