The Phoenix-1 is one of Kizlyar's most popular military knives. It has also proven popular with pig/wild boar hunters when dispatching their quarry.Its popularity was gained mainly due to its almost indestructible design and good balance. It is built like a T-34 tank, tough as nails. You can beat on this knife forever and know it will still function time and time again.
The unique cross-section of the blade, the one-piece blade/tang construction and the strong handle/blade attachment are what equates to the success of this model knife. Blade, guard and tang are milled out of one piece of 5mm thick French Z60 steel. The technique used when manufacturing this knife is similar to the process used when milling steel firearm components.
The final blade will have an almost unbreakable cross-section, similar to that of a steel "I" beam used in the construction industry. Blade tang goes through to the end of the handle and protrudes slightly. The Elastron handle is then moulded over the top and into the tang, so once again, if the handle grip were to work it's way loose, it would still remain in place. The entire blade/guard and tang are all coated with a black oxide finish that is designed to protect the blade from the elements and reduce the glare/reflected light emmitance.

This was one of the first to come in to the country and is now a very sought after and hard to get model.
Please Note: *All the hand made knives are finished differently, this particular blade has been blued.
There are a few minor Storage marks on the rubberised handle where the fastening stud has been closed as a tight fit as can be seen in the detailed images.
All the original Russian Kizlyar Military knives were stamped so that Putin could keep a check on where they were going and we are lucky enough to find a few left over in our stock room.

New but older stock and never been sharpened or out of its sheath. It is unused, and this is one of the beautiful original Russian hand made Kizlyar knives that first came in to the country about 12-15 years ago.
It is an original and at the time only numbered knives were allowed to come out of Russia.
This one looks to be number: 2641 (Although we cannot be sure of the first two digits).
The knife also comes with a high quality plain Black leather sheath with leg tie attachments.
The Phoenix 1 is one of the actual Spetsnaz issue type military knives and we get them only if there is Surplus left over from the military orders.
This version of the knife comes with the classic Elastron Rubberised anti-slip handle.
Comes with a heavy, black leather sheath with fastening stud.
Only one of these original early numbered models available.
