This Classic WWII design has seen action in every major conflict around the globe, including Korea, Vietnam, Central America and the Persian Gulf.
Cold Steel's R1 Military Classic is an exact replica of the original knife used in those conflicts alongside other replicas from SOG and other quality brands
The 7 inch blade has a San Mai construction; a hard core of VG-1 steel is laminated between 2 tougher layers of AUS-8A series stainless, and the one-piece black Micarta handle fits seamless to the 2,7 inch wide stainless hilt.
Each knife is made to the most exacting Cold Steel standards and represents quality you can bet your life on.
The R1 comes complete with a thick quality brown leather sheath, including a Norton Fine India stone in it's own pouch.(Few storage marks on the stone but unused)
Stamped on one side of the Blade is: R1 MILITARY CLASSIC AUS 8A STAINLESS MADE IN JAPAN
Stamped on the other side is: COLD STEEL
Comes in the original Brown Leather Sheath with Sharpening Stone
Knife Description:
VG-1 San Mai is comprised of a core of VG-1 (for maximum edge holding ability) that is sandwiched between two layers of lower carbon steel (for impact resistance and lateral stress resistance).
What is a San Mai Blade?
San Mai Blade construction provides a blade with hard (higher carbon) steel in the middle for a keen, long lasting edge and tougher (lower-carbon) steel along the sides for flexibility.
