This is an older but new (old stock) Cold Steel Japanese made 36LPM Pendleton Mini Hunter Hunting Knife with a VG-1 Stainless Steel blade.

*It is in unused and unsharpened condition 

Cold Steel president, Lynn Thompson bought the first knife that custom maker, Lloyd Pendleton ever made in 1973. Now the two friends have collaborated to produce one of Lloyd's most popular knives, Cold Steel call it the Lloyd Pendleton Mini Hunter. In fabricating this knife, Cold Steel has tried to duplicate Lloyd's work as accurately as possible. The Pendleton Mini Hunter's flat ground blade is honed to perfection. The handle's cross sections and contours match Lloyd's handmade knives exactly. For safety and durability, Cold Steel has dispensed with leather in favour of Secure-Ex for the sheath. This material won't rot or mildew and is far more resistant to cuts or punctures than leather.

The Puma Classic Series Fixed Blade Knives are hand made in Solingen Germany and have long set the standard for the ultimate hunting knife. The stag handles are made from the shed antlers of stag deer, making each stag handled knife truly unique. Each handle scale is individually cut and hand fitted to each knife. The 440A German Stainless Steel blades are razor sharp and extremely durable. Each blade is proof tested for a Rockwell Hardness of 55-57 to insure the quality of the blades. The small dimple near the back of the blade on the right side is not a blemish, but where the hardness testing was done. The dimple is proof that the blade was checked for hardness and is the highest quality.

The Puma Classic Series Pro Hunter is designed specifically for hunting. The Pro Hunter features elegant Stag handles with brass rivets and polished blade. The 440A German Stainless Steel Blade with a gut hook, and is easy to sharpen and will stand up to any task you throw at it. Tips for caring for your knives:   These knives should be kept out of their leather sheaths for storage because natural oil from the leather sheath could cause the knife blade to rust or tarnish.

Silver Stag Knives. Handmade in the USA.

Silver Stag Tool Steel Knives 1095 Tool Steel is often referred to as “cutlery spring steel”, and is well known for its use in manufacturing commercial saw blades.

Between the turn of the century through World War II, this High Carbon Tool Steel was commonly used by custom knife makers (and armatures alike), because the steel was easily obtainable, (rail road spikes, car springs, saw blades). Your Grandpa probably had a knife made from 1095 High Carbon Tool Steel.

This high carbon tool steel hones to a razor sharp edge (better than any stainless steel), retains its edge (better than most stainless steels), and easier to sharpen, (compared to stainless steel).

Blades are Heat treated in a salt batch to a 58 Rockwell Hardness.
Please note this steel will discolor over time and is susceptible to rust/corrosion.
We recommend keeping the blade oiled on a regular basis, but discoloration and/or rust will not affect the blade performance.

Every style features deer or elk antler and each knife is accompanied with a handmade laced western style sheath.
