This is a 'USED' but excellent condition for age, really Big and really nice E.C.Solingen Germany branded Original 8" Blade Bowie Knife circa 1960's-70's and is very similar to the PUMA-EUROCUT-WIDDER Big Scout Bowie Knives of the same period.

This one is a real rarity and is the exact same model as the Puma Scout and if it were branded Puma, would be close to or even $1000+ being so rare and collectable

There does not seem to be much information available on the EC Solingen Germany brand but it would seem that several top quality Solingen companies made 'EUROCUT-WIDDER-PUMA EC -EYE among other branded knives within their factories alongside their own brands between the 1950's-1980's.

These companies also included : Puma, Linder, Herbertz, Schlieper, Boker, PIC, Wider and other quality brands.

Overall 90+% condition. A few minor age marks on the blade which would polish out and no ruist. It has been lightly sharpened but holds a good clean edge with no chips and dings etc.

The Sheath as can be seen in the detailed images is in great condition with just a little stitch missing near the tip and it also has really good studs securing the sheath.

The handle is a beautiful figured Deer Antler of either Sambar or Red Deer

It is a really big Bowie with an overall length of approx 33.5cm long with a Bowie Style Carbon Steel Blade of very solid construction and approx 21cm long and approx 6mm thick and 4cm at its widest point. The handle is approx 12.5cm long.

It  has a nice Satin Silver blade (few blemishes which should polish out) and stamped on one side of the blade is: EC SOLINGEN GERMANY and on the other side is 8X Denoting an 8" Blade. (Which is actually 8 1/4"-21cm long)

The handle is a solid fat piece of Red Deer Antler with red and brown spacers, a brass guard and Alluminium Pommel

It comes with a solid Tan leather belt sheath with securing stud which is stitched and riveted and has a Red Deer Stag embossed on the front of the sheath.

It is a classic, solid and well made German Hunting Knife and worthy of a good collector or owner looking for a character quality made knife to use in the field.
Only one of these available.

This would also clean up very well and as a knife potentially up to 70 years old is a beauty
