A very rare and beautiful 2013 Puma original BUND (Bundeswehr - Armed Forces) 12 6391 Fixed Hook Blade Air/Survival Knife with beautiful Jacaranda wood handle in original card box with certificate and warranty card.

Puma BUND Knife This knife is an MINT condition PUMA BUND knife, Model 12 6391. It is "Einzigartig" or 'almost' one of a kind in the world. Used by the German Luftwaffe in the 70's and 80's, these knives were issued to pilots and rescue ground crews. The special hook on the blade was used to cut parachute cord and / or cut pilots out of their shoulder harness and saftey belts.

After 20+ years, a few of these blades were found in a box at PUMA. Typically, Bunds were issued with Jacaranda wood handles with just a few with Stag Antler Handles.

From this box found at Puma, there were very few and possibly may have been only four or five of these blades made with Jacaranda Wood Handles. The sheath is a special modification, requested by the German military. Extra rivets, about 14, line the sheath.

This change allowed Pilots extra safety when ejecting from their planes. The forces exerted while ejecting and landing prevented the knife from going through the sheath and into the leg of the pilot. The other sheath you can use for this knife is a White Hunter sheath found in recent production knives with a similar blade pattern.

The knife comes with the original plain cardboard box and Puma Issued Certificate attesting to its' almost one of a kind status. The Bund knife, in itself is very rare. They were sold by Puma to the military and the government never gave them away to the crews and pilots for individual use or personal ownership.

(Only a limited number of these were produced and they are no longer available from Puma Germany so now very rare and collectable)

The Knife is mint new condition, totally unused, never been in the sheath and is a real rarity.

It was made in 2013 and is almost 10 years old 

Unused, unsharpened and totally original.
