This Ken Richardson knife set includes an 8" Bowie, a 4.5" Skinner, and a 7.5" Presentation Fillet Knife.

This knife set is one of its kind. Each has been cut, formed and sharpened by hand. Each is a work of art. The blades are cut from the same kind of high carbon steel as old circular sawmill blades, and grounded on a water cooled wheel to preserve the natural tempers gained as the blades age, and then jeweled to a lasting finish. The handles are genuine stag handles, and are unique and no two are alike. Hand scrimshawed deer on hunting knife butt cap. Hand scrimshawed fish on fillet knife handle. The scabbards are made from ten-ounce cow hide.

The blades are 3/32" thick, jeweled and hollow ground. This thickness makes for a much more serviceable edge. The steel is a high-carbon blue tempered 1085 spring steel. The high carbon allows for edge-holding ability at a low temper and makes sharpening easy with a stone, steel or ceramic stick.

The handles come from whitetail deer, and has brass fittings. The handles fit nicely in the hand. As with anything natural, each of these antler handles is unique on each knife.

The sheaths are handmade from 11 oz. Herman Oak leather, then tooled and laced by hand with heavy latigo lacing. The sheath for each of the Bowie and Skinner also has an antler tipped tie closure to keep the knives secure. The leather is tanned with salt-free solutions to avoid rusting of the blade.

Ken Richardson has been making knives since 1977 and is widely known for his high quality knives. The knives and sheaths are made by hand without any use of aids or jigs and each is unique and has its own character. Each of these knives is individually numbered on the brass fitting.

Excellent for display or as a practical hunting knife, or Western action and re-enactment. Very unique and collectable. All handmade in the USA.
