This is a slightly older and almost mint, 1st production run GERBER USA Fairbairn/Applegate Covert Folding knife.

1st production run, and this one has a brushed steel blade (others on the market now have a black blade).

Steel is ATS-34.

Fully made in the USA.

Stamped on one side of the blade is: COVERT FOLDER FIRST PRODUCTION RUN

Stamped on the other side of the blade is: GERBER USA ATS-34 and the signatures of Applegate and Fairbairn.

Never used, carried or sharpened.

In almost mint collectable condition with just a couple of tiny age marks on the blade as can be seen in the detailed images.

This one is a rarity being the first production run and a great collecatble piece.

As legacies go, a man could do worse than being survived by the famous knife he designed. Such is the case with the late Colonel Rex Applegate. He was one of this proud nations top authorities on close-quarters combat in particular, and fighting knives in general. The Applegate-Fairbairn Covert stands with the Applegate-Fairbairn Combat as lasting symbols of the colonels dedication, expertise, and sense of purpose.
