Puma Knife: Rare 1 of 500 Puma DEFENDER Knife in Original Box

Very Rare Puma DEFENDER Knife Model 12 6480 . Produced between 1988-1990.
This knife is wholly made in Solingen, Germany by Puma and is one of only 500 (number 68/500) produced so is now rare and very collectable.

The blade is stamped 12 6480 HANDMADE PUMA DEFENDER SOLINGEN GERMANY and on the other side DESIGN HEHN 68/500

Condition: Very Good to excellent for age and rarity.

Comes in original Puma wooden box with Puma Badge on front and decorated brass hinges.

Blade has been lightly sharpened and the box has a few signs of age and handling which can be expected for a knife of this age.

This is an almost new, but an old model and therefore we have also put it in the category of Vintage and Collectable. If you can find these new, they go for between $2300-$2800 AUD and this price reflects the very light sharpened edge as seen in the images.

The Puma Defender knife is only one of 500 made in this is number 68/500.

A beautiful knife with linen micarta handle material that makes for a makes for a striking looking and solid grip. The sheath has a special locking feature to lock the handle of the knife into the sheath. I have only seen this feature on the Defenders.

Beautiful 1988-1990 Vintage PUMA Defender Knife. The model number is 12 6480. Puma only made this model for one year. This Puma knife is over 25 years old. This is a chance to own a great piece of Puma cutlery history. It is one awesome Puma knife!

This fine Puma Defender Knife has a fixed blade and is a full tang knife. This knife measures 11 1/2" overall with a 6" blade. The handle is genuine black linen Micarta which is very strong.  The handle has two silver pins with lanyard hole through the handle. This is a super sharp Puma knife!

The finger guard and pommel are made from German polished silver. The finger has a silver inlaid Puma shield on both sides. This Puma knife was designed by German knife maker, Richard Henn, and only 500 were hand made by Puma Werks in solingen, Germany. 

It's a solid fighter knife with a strong heavy duty metal handle and has a double hollow ground 154CM aircraft grade steel blade. Boeing uses the same type of steel in ball bearings in their jet engines.

The sheath has a built in security mechanism. A snap button pin that clicks directly into a hole in the handle.

This fine German hunting knife also has the factory Rockwell mark.

The blade is etched on one side: 12 6480 HANDMADE - PUMA DEFENDER - SOLINGEN GERMANY. 

The other side is DESIGN HEHN 68/500

The knife features a genuine Puma Germany Tan Leather Sheath. It has gorgeous handles. Overall the sheath is in very good condition and the knife is excellent with just a few marks from being very lightly sharpened. It is a gorgeous and rare Puma knife. 

The Puma knife comes with the genuine Puma tan leather sheath and a nice Puma Presentation Box. The knife also comes with the original Puma sharpening guide.

This Puma knife was hand made in Solingen Germany in between 1988 and 1990. It is truly a rare Puma knife that were made to the the highest quality in Solingen Germany.
