This is a rare vintage Buck 112 folding hunting knife. The handles are made of classic rosewood scales brass bolsters, liners and rivets. It has a 3" clip point 420HC blade, with 7 1/4" overall length. Length when closed is 4 1/4".

Made in the USA in 1987, as indicated by the two dots near the model number on the Blade ("..112>." in the images.

We understand that from 1974 to 1986, Buck used a dot system to identify year of manufacture. For the 112 Ranger knives,
* 1974 to 1980: one dot on either side of the model # (example: .112.)
* 1980: one dot on the left side and two dots on the right side of the model # (example: .112..)
* 1981 to 1986: two dots on either side of the model # (example: ..112..).
* Post 1986, Buck used special symbols to identify the year of manufacture.

Based on this, the two dot model was unique to 1987, which would make this Buck 112 Ranger knife a rare find.
